Consumer Trends

Consumer trends in 2010 were interlaced with common several threads, creating a framework of consumers seeking value while trying to develop healthier habits. Digital coupons grew, with more consumers looking to save money. Consumers in general used laptops, smartphones and other
devices for a myriad of food-related activities, such as researching ingredients and buying products online. They tended to shop at retailers touting lower prices, such as supercenters and warehouse clubs; some swapped national brands for store brands in their search for value. However, some
consumers splurged on a few indulgences – namely energy drinks and snacks – perhaps looking to reprieve themselves from their ongoing cautionary spending.

Get into the mind of your consumers by finding out where, why and how consumers shop.
